STAINLESS STEEL, STEEL, BLACK PAINT, FISHING LINE.

High Tide was inspired by a bird that I watched while it played in the tides of a marsh near Morro Bay. Its eyes, its wing, and the reflective drama of its colorful feathers are captured in the stainless. The large ring symbolizes the marsh and the water is symbolized by the hole cut into it. A dragonfly floats above the marsh, weighted by a disc. The movement of the dragonfly in the wind causes the weighted disc to hit the sides of the marsh creating a ringing tone like a metal bell.
